The blended TEFL course (Trinity CertTESOL) takes 6 weeks: 2 weeks of online study, then 4 weeks face-to-face in Rome, with attendance required. It leads to the same Level 5 TEFL certificate as the full face-to-face course, with a lighter workload once you arrive.

The course
A lighter TEFL workload once you arrive
Blended students study online for 2 weeks before the face-to-face cohort starts, completing part of the course input and assignments. They then join the same in-person class in Rome for the full 4-week programme. The syllabus is the same as in every CertTESOL format: only the format changes. Blended is not a remote alternative to the classroom: the on-site phase is required. If you do not want to travel, choose the Online CertTESOL.

Two phases, one TEFL certificate
1. Online preparation
2 weeks of online study before the course starts: part of the input and your first assignments, at your own pace.
2. Four weeks in Rome
Join the face-to-face class: observed teaching practice with real adult learners, input sessions and lesson-planning support.
3. Trinity CertTESOL
The same syllabus and the same Level 5 TEFL certificate as every other format: only the format changes. The certificate does not mention how you studied.

Blended TEFL course: FAQ
Is the blended course fully online?
No. The first phase is online, but you must attend the 4-week in-person programme in Rome.
What is the difference from the full-time course in Rome?
The in-person phase is the same. Blended adds 2 weeks of online study beforehand so you arrive with part of the work already done.
Can I do the whole TEFL course remotely?
Yes, with the Online CertTESOL, which requires no travel.
Is the Trinity CertTESOL the same as the CELTA?
They are equivalent: both are regulated Level 5 qualifications with at least 6 hours of assessed teaching practice, recognised by language schools worldwide.
