After graduating, I completed in the three teacher development courses offered by TEFL in Italy: Teaching Young Learners, Cambridge Exams, and my personal favorite, Teaching Business English. These courses broadened my teaching repertoire and deepened my expertise in specific areas of English instruction. Each course was uniquely enriching, but the Business English module stood out as it provided practical tools and strategies that aligned perfectly with my career aspirations.
One of the most impactful aspects of my TEFL in Italy experience was the job placementassistance. Shortly after completing the program, the team connected me with a fantastic English school. Thanks to their support, I’ve been working there for over a year now, enjoying a fulfilling career teaching students from diverse backgrounds. This seamless transition into employment speaks volumes about the commitment TEFL in Italy has to its graduates.
Beyond the exceptional training and job placement, what I value most from my TEFL in Italy experience is a skill that has transcended teaching and enriched many other facets of my life: the ability to self-analyze.
During the course, we frequently observed our peers teaching and provided constructive feedback. This practice, led by our inspiring course director, Marta, emphasized the importance of self-reflection. She reminded us that the mark of a great teacher is the ability to critically assess one’s lessons and teaching methods, then strive for continuous improvement. This lesson resonated deeply with me and has become a cornerstone of my personal and professional growth.
What started as a teaching tool has become my life philosophy. I now use self-analysis in various areas, including my recreational sports, cooking, and even personal relationships. By objectively evaluating my actions and asking myself these key questions: What went well? What could I improve? How can I be more effective? How can I be more efficient? I’ve developed a deeper sense of self-awareness. This practice empowers me to set meaningful goals, track my progress, and become the best version of myself in many areas of my life.
TEFL in Italy didn’t just prepare me for a teaching career; it reshaped my outlook on growth, learning, and self-improvement. This program has profoundly changed my life in ways I never anticipated. What a gift this has been!
