I’m Piotr, a language teacher from Poland, and this is my story of completing a TEFL course organized by TEFL in Italy.
As I later found out, the school belongs to a network of TEFL schools, organizationally connected and owned by the same person. This offers great opportunities and allows for a full TEFL abroad experience. Thanks to this, I was able to conduct some of my lessons online with TEFL in Italy students, while completing part of my practicum in person, finishing my TEFL in Málaga in southern Spain.

I began the course online in late October from Poland, diving into teaching methodology, lesson planning, and classroom strategies. From the start, it was clear how structured and thoughtful the program was, designed to guide teachers through each stage of development.
Once I arrived in Malaga, I transitioned from online teaching to face-to-face lessons. While I had already started gaining experience teaching online, working with students in a real classroom added an entirely new dimension. The practical sessions allowed me to apply methodologies from Input Sessions, observe experienced teachers, and refine my skills with direct feedback. At the same time, interacting with students from different countries, including Italy, Spain, and beyond, highlighted the benefits of a TEFL abroad program. The international environment gave me insight into different learning styles and teaching approaches, and demonstrated how TEFL in Italy teacher training emphasizes flexibility and multicultural collaboration.

During Online Teaching Practices, I worked with Italian students, who were incredibly engaged and welcoming. Even from a distance, I could sense the truly Italian approach to learning and life: curiosity, enthusiasm, and a collaborative spirit. These interactions made me eager to experience TEFL in Rome in person and explore how teaching English in Italy works in a live classroom. Conversations with Italian tutors and peers also enriched my understanding of Italian culture, educational methods, and the professional standards of a TEFL school in Italy.

The course itself had a very organic structure. Starting with Input Sessions online, moving to Guided Observations, and then practicing lessons in person, each stage naturally built on the previous one. Journals, assignments, and reflective exercises complemented this cycle, reinforcing what I learned and helping me grow steadily as a teacher. Everything felt connected, creating an effective progression from theory to practice.
Being in Malaga was a great experience – sunny days, relaxed rhythm, and a focus on balance – felt familiar, yet I could see how Italy would add its own flavour to the TEFL experience. Even in a different country, the influence of Italian teaching culture and the Italian way of learning was present in every interaction, every discussion, and every lesson I observed.

The course concluded with the Trinity College London moderation online, a professional and supportive experience that brought together months of teaching, observation, and reflection.
Looking back, earning my TEFL certification with TEFL in Italy was not just about obtaining a qualification. It was a journey of professional and personal growth, cross-cultural understanding, and a clear sense of how teaching English abroad works in a real, international context.
If you are planning to take TEFL in Italy or, more generally, complete a TEFL abroad course, this experience shows how a well-structured program, combined with interaction with Italian students and tutors, can be transformative. Whether your goal is TESOL abroad or teaching in Rome, TEFL in Italy offers practical training, flexible opportunities, and an international network that prepares you to teach English anywhere.

The school offers various course options: on-site, online, and blended. Courses are held regularly, and their dates and fees are published on the school’s website, allowing you to enroll practically any time of the year.
For anyone looking to develop professionally and gain meaningful teaching experience, this course is a journey worth taking.
