Hi! My name is Winnie and I recently completed the 4-week in-person TEFL course in Rome, Italy this summer. I worked with TEFL In Italy as a marketing intern through their special program where you can earn a certificate for free! Originally I struggled to choose between TEFL in Italy or their sister school, TEFL in Malaga. I previously visited Malaga earlier this summer and loved the food, culture, and environment. The school is also right across from the beach! I decided on Rome, because I really wanted to opportunity to practice Italian.
When I first arrived in Rome, I had no idea just how much this city — and this TEFL in Italy program — would change me. I’ve always wanted to study abroad and experience life in Italy, so this TEFL certification course in Rome was the perfect opportunity to combine both passions. 🇮🇹
I was lucky to have wonderful classmates and a beautiful apartment just steps from the Colosseum! From the moment I stepped out onto the cobbled streets and heard the hum of the vespas, I knew I was far from home but somewhere truly special. This TEFL training in Rome gave me the chance to meet amazing people, gain an internationally recognized TEFL certificate, and explore Italian culture firsthand.
Every day was a mix of learning, teaching, and living la dolce vita — from practicing my Italian with locals to ordering gelato after class. Completing my TEFL certification in Italy not only helped me grow as a teacher but gave me memories to last a lifetime.

The TEFL course in Rome was intensive, rewarding, and full of moments that pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best possible way. On our first day, we met the TEFL trainers in Italy — warm, experienced professionals who guided us through grammar lessons, classroom management, and practical teaching practice sessions. Each morning, we gathered in our cozy TEFL classroom in Rome to explore creative methods that make teaching English as a foreign language engaging and fun. By the afternoon, we were teaching real students, putting everything we learned into practice through the TEFL certification course in Italy. ✨
Because the TEFL training program was so immersive, there was always a flow of assignments, lesson planning, and teaching observations that kept us motivated and focused. But what made it truly unforgettable was doing it all right here in the heart of Rome. From grabbing an espresso before class, enjoying a scoop of Italian gelato on a sunny afternoon, to finishing the day with an Aperol spritz and chatting with classmates, every moment captured the magic of studying abroad.
Over the weekends, I set out to explore more of Rome’s iconic landmarks — from tossing a coin at the Trevi Fountain, climbing the Spanish Steps, to wandering through Villa Borghese. Of course, no weekend was complete without tasting Rome’s famous pasta and pastries. Although I stayed in Rome, there are many wonderful places beyond Rome that guarantee an unforgettable experience. Completing my TEFL certification in Rome wasn’t just about becoming a teacher — it was about experiencing Italian culture, history, and everyday life while preparing for a career to teach English abroad. Every moment was truly one to savor. 🇮🇹

After a productive day at TEFL school in Rome, it was so relaxing to walk back to my apartment through the gorgeous cobbled streets, pass by historic landmarks, and catch sunsets by the Colosseum. Those moments reminded me how lucky I was to be studying TEFL in Italy, learning, growing, and exploring one of the most beautiful cities in the world while earning my TEFL certification in Rome. 🌇
What made this TEFL experience in Italy even more meaningful was the incredible sense of community. My classmates came from all over — the U.S., Scotland, Rome, and beyond — each bringing a different story and cultural perspective. We studied together, practiced lessons, and shared countless laughs along the way. There’s a special bond that forms when you’re all learning how to teach English and navigate life in Rome together. ❤️
After completing the TEFL course in Italy, my classmates became lifelong friends — connections that now stretch across many corners of the world. This TEFL journey in Rome was more than just a teacher training program — it was a cultural exchange, an adventure, and a reminder of how powerful education can be in bringing people together. 🌍

By the time Moderation Week came around, I felt nervous but ready. All the guided observations, feedback, and encouragement from our tutors paid off. The teaching plans and learner profile assignment helped put our knowledge to practice. I realized how much I’d grown — not just as a teacher, but as a person. That’s the beauty of studying TEFL in Rome: you’re constantly learning from your environment, your peers, your students, and yourself.
Now, looking back, I can see how this course has opened so many doors. I left Rome not only with a TEFL certificate, but with confidence, friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. If you’re thinking about taking the leap — do it! There’s truly nothing like earning your TEFL in a city as inspiring and beautiful as Rome. You’ll challenge yourself, fall in love with teaching, and discover a new side of yourself along the way. 🌍
